Fun Day at Vanlandingham Farms

Here are some pics of one of several "Fun Day" trips The Fort Gibson Church of Christ Youth Group is taking this summer. These pics are from Vanlandingham Farms where we fished, rode horses, played basketball, softball, and just basically did nothing for an entire day. It was great!

Detour Zone 2007

It's been a great year of Detour Zone. We have averaged between 25-40 middle school and high school students every Tuesday for snacks, Bible class, and free time / games.

Below: Puppet Workshop for Kids. This was cool. Instructors Pat & Jeff using big puppets which are holding on to smaller puppets dressed like the bigger puppets to demonstrate effective puppeteering!

Next year, the Workshop will be hosted at the South College Church of Christ. Bible Bowl will move to Friday night to make room for more "how to" classes on Saturday. Possibilities include classes on: teaching, preaching, songleading, & women's roles... plus puppet, bulletin board, and drama workshops. Hope to see you then!

Below: This pic was taken during the Kingdom Seekers Leadership Conference when a group of teens and sponsors went down by the Arkansas River in Tulsa to check out "Tent City." It's a place where homeless people set up tents to live in. We made sandwiches for them, but we really only ran into one homeless person. Nevertheless, we got to see where they live and we learned to be more appreciative of what we have. The theme of Kingdom Seekers was "Called." The weekend encouraged teens to take a closer look at what God has called them to do.

Shortly after this candlelighted devotional, we all were given a piece of paper to write down what we believe God has called us to do individulally. We put our thoughts in an envelope which will be mailed out to each person sometime during the next 12 months.

Hi Everybody... I started a new xanga so I could post more pics of youth activities. I hope you enjoy! I was getting a little homesick for Burnt Cabin, so I decided to post a few from last summer.
